How our team has grown and developed despite a Global Pandemic
How the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team has adapted during the global pandemic
It has been almost one year since the start of the first lockdown and throughout this time, we at Giles Wilson have been busy developing our Litigation & Dispute Resolution department with a dynamic team of both new and familiar members.
Despite the challenges faced over the past twelve months, the team continues to go from strength to strength and it is with resilience and determination that the team has achieved so much in the past year.
Each of our team brings unique strengths to the work we do and, together, we are always looking to find the best ways of achieving success and resolutions for both individual clients and commercial entities across the local area and further afield. Think of us as your legal problem solvers.
Everyone in the team has taken on new challenges and, as modern lawyers, have easily adapted to the changes brought in as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Recently, Partner and Head of the team, Philip Giles, has taken on the role of District Judge, whilst continuing to provide expert advice to his clients with a focus on cases involving personal disputes such as Contentious Probate and Family.
Roy Daby, Partner and Head of the Commercial team provides expert advice with a focus on litigation involving commercial entities. Throughout the pandemic, Roy has continued to support businesses with his in-depth knowledge in commercial litigation, employment and other nice areas of law.
During the first lockdown, Elliot Cousins completed his training at Giles Wilson and having obtained Higher Rights of Audience, qualified as a Solicitor Advocate allowing him to appear in the higher courts without the need to engage a Barrister. Since qualification, Elliot has developed a broad caseload of disputes involving both individual and business clients, across a range of litigious matters.
In the new year, Zoe Antill took on the challenge of stepping up to Trainee Solicitor and will be due to qualify in autumn 2022. She continues to develop her knowledge in Litigation & Dispute Resolution and we look forward to being able to celebrate her qualification in the near future.
In February 2021, we also welcomed Bradley Wood into the team as a Paralegal. As well as developing himself as a lawyer, Bradley provides support to the team with all aspects of administration and client care. Look out for Bradley’s blog on life as a Paralegal at Giles Wilson, coming soon!
At Giles Wilson Solicitors, we are proud of what everyone across the firm has achieved during this difficult time and we look forward to being able to share further developments in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in the future.
