Rachael is an Associate Solicitor here at Giles Wilson in our Family Law department. Her work covers all areas of Family Law including divorce, financial settlements, cohabitation issues, private law children matters and domestic violence. With a particular passion for children matters and supporting victims of domestic violence, Rachael has links with the local women’s refuge and support services.
Not only is has Rachael received the Family Law accreditation from The Law Society, but she is also an accredited member of Resolution for both cohabitation and private law children matters. Resolution’s Code of Practice is central to the way Rachael works. The Code requires solicitors to behave in a way that will not inflame a difficult situation. Wherever possible, clients are encouraged to see the benefits of finding solutions outside of a formal court process.
Rachael’s focus is always on each client as an individual. She recognises that everyone’s circumstances are different and works closely with her clients, listening carefully to their specific needs and wishes to fully understand their priorities. Family matters often require a great deal of sensitivity as emotions can run high.
She prides herself on her ability to be empathetic in all situations, whilst being able to deliver sound and concise practical advice. Clients value Rachael’s compassionate nature along with her ability to explain complex legal jargon and procedures in very simple, everyday language.
Outside of work, Rachael is actively involved in the local community where she is a member of the Leigh-on-Sea Women in Business networking group. She is also a mentor for Year 8 students as part of the Careers and Enterprise 60 Minute Mentor Scheme in association with Southend Council.
