GILES WILSON IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS and continues to operate in complete compliance with the government’s latest guidance. While our preferred method of conducting appointments is via phone or video call, we are able to make allowances for in-person consultations, in-keeping with social distancing rules. If you're concerned that an elderly or vulnerable relative, friend or neighbour is at risk of financial abuse or exploitation, the team at Giles Wilson can help.
In general, we have a high standard of care in this Country and incidents of financial abuse and exploitation are rare. But whilst it is important not to jump to conclusions, we still have a duty to act on any suspicion.
If you are responsible for an elderly or vulnerable person, or have a vulnerable friend or relative who you believe is at risk of exploitation, we can provide expert support and advice to ensure they get the protection they need. We can help draft a Power of Attorney for finance and property, approaching the Court of Protection on your behalf where necessary and ensuring that the vulnerable individual has a legal and appropriate will. In cases where they don't, we can help in the drafting of a new one or the application for a statutory will to be made.
