Resolving disputes outside the courtroom
Not all problems need to be settled in the courtroom. Our dedicated and experienced mediation service can help you resolve all of your issues with the minimum of red tape.
At Giles Wilson, we know that going to court can be a lengthy, costly, uncertain and emotionally draining experience. Mediation offers an alternative route, providing you with the opportunity to resolve key issues without having to resort to the courtroom. Whether the issue is personal or business-related, our mediators can give you the perfect platform to air your views, discuss your options and find an amicable agreement.
Philip Giles and Roy Daby are the firm’s mediators. They both have an extensive background as litigators and long experience as mediators. Philip has particular expertise in personal and family disputes, mainly contested probate, disputed Wills and property disputes (usually involving unmarried co-owners). Roy specialises in commercial and employment/workplace disputes.
Most mediations involve the parties attending with their solicitor or barrister and, depending on the nature of the dispute, the mediation will last either half a day or a full day. Our mediators will discuss with you (or the solicitor representing you) the best arrangement for your case.
